The hops used to make beer contain a flavonoid called xanthohumol, which can help to control body weight and blood sugar in a rat model of obesity. New findings from researchers at Oregon State University (Corvallis) led by Kathy Magnusson suggest that xanthohumol can also improve cognitive function in young mice.
